Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 April 2026

King & Queen of the Courts ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect on this website, how we use it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA") and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

1. Who we are

The operator of this website is Solarmente t/a King & Queen of the Courts, based in the Western Cape, South Africa. You can contact us at hello@kingandqueenofthecourts.co.za. We act as the responsible party / data controller for the information described below.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Inquiry form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of inquiry, and the content of your message.
  • Consent: a record that you ticked the consent box and the time it was submitted.
  • Correspondence: any additional information you include when you email us directly.

Information collected automatically

  • Microsoft Clarity: we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with this website (clicks, scrolls, session recordings, device type, approximate location from IP). Clarity may set first- and third-party cookies. See Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
  • Server logs & CDN: our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may log standard request data such as IP address, user agent and referrer for security and abuse prevention.

3. Why we use it

  • To respond to your inquiry (tournament entry, sponsorship, press, venues, suppliers).
  • To keep you updated about the tournament, if you've asked us to.
  • To improve the website, detect abuse and keep our infrastructure secure.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Legal basis

We process personal information on one or more of the following legal bases: your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), our legitimate interest in running and improving the tournament and this website, and compliance with a legal obligation. Where we rely on consent, we obtain it through the tick-box on the inquiry form or through the cookie banner.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the processors that make this site work:

Some of these providers are located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we rely on the provider's own adequacy and contractual safeguards as required by POPIA and, where relevant, GDPR.

6. How long we keep it

We keep inquiry submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and, where relevant, to keep a record of the tournament. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your rights below). Analytics data retention is managed by Microsoft Clarity and is limited to their defaults, currently 13 months.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what information we hold about you.
  • Have your information corrected or deleted.
  • Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za) or, where GDPR applies, to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@kingandqueenofthecourts.co.za.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Inquiry submissions are transmitted to Formspree over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian believes we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above tells you when it was last revised. Material changes will be flagged on the home page.
